About Us:Writer's Resources:General:For members:
|
Our MissionOur list is for writers, run by writers. All writers are welcome here no matter what you write. This is the place to hone your skills, and seek serious and specific feedback from other writers. We discuss the mechanics of getting published, and try to offer you the resources you need to succeed. Our aim is to encourage talent, and ultimately guide it to its rightful place in print. We're not 'professionals' and membership isn't conditional on being prolific, established, or already published, but to become a member, you must submit something you have written. URLs to work already posted online will be fine for submission. You will be asked to participate in some form, as real life permits, mainly by posting your own writing and giving feedback on other member's work. Remember to be supportive and constructive, and nurture the creative atmosphere of the group. This should be a learning experience for all members. A few rules to keep things running smoothly: This list works on a 'give and take' principle, and participation is key to our success. If you post your work, and expect people to critique it, then return the favour and give feedback on someone else's. This list is NOT for lurkers. Please read our participation guidelines for more information. You will need to approach this list with a serious desire to better yourself as a writer, as feedback will be honest, and detailed. If you are easily discouraged by criticism about your writing, this is NOT the list for you. Chat is welcomed as long as it is properly labelled. We are not in competition with one another, nor with any other list or body of writers. There are no "stars" here - we operate as a co-operative, with all members having an equal say in how the list is run. All work posted must include standard disclaimers concerning content of an adult nature and copyright. This is the author's responsibility, and not that of the list. Welcome aboard - now, let's get some writing done! And above all... enjoy yourself. Express your ridiculous side, your melancholy, or your sense of adventure and don't be afraid to try something new and embarrass yourself. Better to screw up with friends privately, than look like an idiot in public! <g> |
